Why we built PastHello
We started PastHello because it is so damn hard to just get past the scams, the fake posts, and the profit-driven sites that don't perform — just to meet someone you actually want to spend time with.
It should not be this hard to just get "Past Hello".
So we built the opposite of what dating has become: private sections and clear boundaries. During beta, members can test the experience for free with other unverified beta members. No subscriptions.

Get past hello, safely.
PastHello is dating built on mutual agreement. During beta, accounts are not ID-verified; beta members can connect only with other beta members in their section.
Here, you have the right to be exactly who you are — and so does everyone else. Pick the orientation and dating style that fit you, and we'll keep your world yours: you'll meet people looking for the same kind of connection, and no one will impose theirs on you.
Once you've both said hello, Icebreakers drop short, playful prompts into your conversation — built from what you each said you're into. Nothing long, nothing intimate. Just a fun way to find out if you click.
Example · she's hetero, he's hetero · both looking for something traditional
You both tagged live concerts, staying active, and eating healthy. First date: food-truck night before a show, or a morning run and the farmers market?
Food-truck night — but I pick the band.
Deal. I'll stretch first. 🎶
Answers stay light — the chase is the point.

Verification at launch
Free beta members are not ID-verified and can connect only with other beta members. Government ID and selfie verification return for full membership.
Sections that stay separate
Orientation and dating type are walled off. You only ever see people in your exact section — and they only see you.
Boundary agreements
Past hello, you both set what's OK, what's not yet, and what's a no. Every change is time, date and place stamped.
Stop means stop — on record
Either person can issue a stop or cease notice at any time. Both receive it and it stays on file.
Free while in beta
Beta signup is free. At launch, continuing requires a one-time membership payment and ID verification; tips remain optional.
Private by default
Public visitors see only age, interests, what you're looking for and a general area. Nothing more.

Worth a closer look
Dating, with your eyes open.
The dating landscape
A better first conversation starts with clarity
Dating apps make it easy to meet, but harder to know whether you're looking for the same thing. Be upfront about your pace and the kind of connection you want. A thoughtful hello beats an endless exchange of guesses.
Staying safe
Keep the first meeting public
Choose a familiar public place, arrange your own way there and back, and tell someone you trust where you'll be. You can leave at any point, even if the date seemed promising online.
Spot the warning signs
When the conversation turns to money
Treat requests for money, gift cards, crypto, or urgent financial help as a reason to pause. Someone who pressures you to move off the site or share private details early deserves extra caution.
Things worth sharing
Make room for ordinary interests
A walk, a community event, or an afternoon at a game can reveal more than a polished profile. Suggest a low-pressure plan and talk through expectations before you meet.
